Broccoli Casserole

This is a family favorite at my grandmother’s for Thanksgiving.  Who doesn’t love a casserole?  To change the recipe up a little, you can add 6 chicken thighs, cooked and chopped and use cream of chicken soup to turn it into a main dish.

Servings: 12
Cook Time: Prep Time: 15 minutes; Total Time: 50 minutes

heads fresh broccoli, chopped
cans cream of broccoli soup
cup mayonnaise
teaspoon lemon juice
cup grated cheddar cheese
cup breadcrumbs

Steam the broccoli in 6 Tablespoons of water for 5 minutes in the microwave.  Drain the broccoli and place it in a 9 X 13 casserole dish.  Mix the soup, mayonnaise and lemon juice together and spread over the broccoli.  Sprinkle the cheese and breadcrumbs over the soup mixture.  Bake at 350 for 35 minutes.
