Green smoothie

We grow plenty of greens in the spring (kale, collards, spinach, and herbs) so mix it up and try some combinations of flavors. I found this beginner’s recipe at: simplegreensmoothies.com. Not a fan of bananas? Swap it for ¼ avocado or add another ½ cup of mango.

Ingredients

1
cup fresh spinach
1
cup water
1/2
cup pineapple
1/2
cup mango
1
banana (peeled)

Directions

Step 1

Tightly pack the spinach in a measuring cup and add to a blender with the water.

Step 2

Blend until smooth (should look like green water).

Step 3

Add pineapple, mango and banana. You can use frozen fruit to chill the smoothie and save on cutting and prepping.

Step 4

Blend together until smooth and creamy. This could take 30 seconds or 2 minutes, depending on your blender.

Step 5

Pour into a glass and serve immediately or store in the refrigerator with a lid until ready to drink.
