Mikaya’s Mom’s Famous Seven Layer Salad

Mikaya said she asks for this EVERY holiday and has been known to throw a tantrum if it isn’t made. It is so simple, but so good! This is a true southern dish and one of my favorites as well!

Ingredients

lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled
1
large head iceberg lettuce – rinsed, dried and chopped
1
red onion, chopped
1
(10 oz.) package frozen green peas, thawed
10
ounce cheddar cheese, shredded
1
cup green pepper, chopped
1
¼ cup mayonnaise
2
Tbsp. white sugar
2/3
cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

In a large flat bowl or a 9 x 13 baking dish, place the chopped lettuce and top with a layer of onion, peas, shredded cheese, green pepper and bacon.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sugar and Parmesan cheese. Drizzle over salad and refrigerate until chilled.
