Every year the State Farmers Market (Raleigh) host commodity days- days for strawberries, blueberries, peaches, watermelon and more. Last Thursday, July 14, 2022, was peach day. The day held live music in a central location for the whole market to hear. Delicious peach ice cream served up at the event center was to be had. There was face painting, an appearance from Pricilla the Peach and the NC Peach Queen, Katie Harris. Free recipe cards were handed out, and peaches upon fresh peaches to purchase all throughout the State Farmers Market.

There are two restaurants on the grounds of the State Farmers Market, one is the N.C. Seafood Restaurant and the next one is titled non-other than, State Farmers Market Restaurant. Fresh veggies and country styled food is served up daily at the State Farmers Market Restaurant. Regulars know that a free sweet treat is served up after every meal (while supplies last). Often the sweet treat is banana pudding, biscuit pudding, or various fruit cobblers, but on peach day, of course the free bowl of goodness was peach cobbler!

The 2022 peach day at the Raleigh Farmers Market was sweet as a peach! Next, soak up the sweetness of watermelon day, Thursday, July 28, 2022.
