These have become a family favorite during the holidays. We added the pecans this year for something new and plan to try them with other candies. Your guests will be surprised they are made with crackers.

Ingredients

2
sticks butter
1
½ cups brown sugar
1
sleeve of saltine crackers
10
oz. bag peanut butter chips
12
oz. bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
2
cups chopped pecans

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9 x 13 or 11 x 17 baking sheet with heavy duty aluminum foil. Place crackers in a single row to cover the pan.

Combine the butter and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook while whisking for 2 minutes.  The mixture will turn a caramel color. Pour the mixture over the crackers and spread to cover them all. Place in the oven and bake for 7 minutes.

Remove from oven and cover with both bags of chips. Place back in the oven for 3 minutes. Remove from oven and swirl chips around with a knife or the back of a spoon to cover the crackers. Sprinkle with pecans and gently press in with the back of the spoon.

Place the pan in the refrigerator or freezer until hardened.  Pull foil off the crackers and break into pieces.
