Geluna Gelato
Geluna Gelato makes gelato – Italian ice cream – in small batches in their downtown Cary shop. Geluna is committed to using real ingredients, with NO artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. All of their gelato is made with milk and cream from Homeland Creamery in nearby Julian. They aim to source as many NC-sourced ingredients as possible. These include strawberries from Seal the Seasons, honey from King Cobra Apiary (Saxapahaw), lavender from Spicewalla (Asheville), and peanut butter from Big Spoon Nut Roasters (Hillsborough). Geluna Gelato is an independent shop, locally owned by a husband and wife team who trained for 3 weeks in at Carpigiani’s Gelato University, located outside of Bologna, Italy.
