Liberty & Plenty Distillery
Liberty & Plenty Distillery is an urban craft distillery rooted in the 150 year old distilling industry of North Carolina. Our proprietary spirits production for Liberty & Plenty and matured spirits sourcing for the Bronze Bull Single Batch brand, are designed for those that enjoy a range of elevated flavors and experiences. Utilizing double-batch distillation on two copper pot stills and other modern techniques, we seek the purest expression of ingredients by incorporating careful yeast selection, a variety of fermentation and distillation techniques and oak maturation styles.Located in the Central Park district of downtown Durham overlooking the original Durham Athletic Park, the distillery is within the former Brame Warehouse built in 1938, which housed the R.J. Reynolds Prizery. Operational from 1938 to 1963, this warehouse was used to store "prized" or pressed layers of tobacco leaves into hogshead barrels, similar to the oak barrels we use for maturing bourbon and whiskey. This prizery was one of the original 1930's R.J. Reynold's Prizery locations built to support the principle industry of Durham, the tobacco trade. This building is included in the Preservation Durham's Tobacco Heritage Tour Booklet.Liberty & Plenty Distillery produces Slate Belt Vodkas made from Whey and Corn Spirits, Cap & Cane Rum made from American and Guatemalan Molasses and Bronze Bull Bourbons and Whiskies and sells these bottled products 7 days a week through the Distillery Tasting Bar.Enjoy with Spirited Curiosity!
