Mt. Olive Pickles

Manufacturer of the best-selling brand of pickles, peppers and relishes in the US, Mt. Olive Pickle Company, Inc. is named for its hometown of Mount Olive, NC. Prompted by bumper crops of cucumbers that were going to waste, local business people established the company in 1926 to create a new market for area farmers. The Mt. Olive Pickle Company gift shop is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. There, visitors can view Mt. Olive's tour DVD, which shows how the the company makes its pickles, and browse all sorts of picklephrenalia.
