Rays Country Ham Company LLC follows the traditional methods for curing hams that our family has used for generations. Now producing America’s Finest Country Ham offered as whole bone-in hams and vacuum-packed portions of slices exclusively through the Company’s website and other eCommerce platforms, and recognized as the leading seller of Country Ham on Amazon. The Company was founded by Ray and Geneva Goad, who opened their first restaurant ten years after he was discharged from the Navy at the end of WWII. Ray was known for serving his style of Country Ham with the homemade from scratch southern biscuits his mother made at Rays Starlight Restaurant in Mount Airy, N.C., and the chain of Rays Kingburger restaurants first opened in 1964 and eventually operated across five of the Mid-Atlantic States. Ray Goad became an American Fast Food Pioneer when he was the very first to serve his Country Ham and Sausage Biscuits in a fast-food restaurant. You can’t eat at a Ray’s restaurant today, but you can find a Biscuit Sandwich at fast-food restaurants all across the USA. R. J. Goad and Susan Goad Massey head Ray’s Country Ham Company LLC and are perpetuating the legacy of Rays and the rich traditions of Country Ham.
