Since 2016, Sonlight Farms has been sharing their love of agriculture with the community and beyond! Come during the fall season to go through the 8-acre corn maze, take a hayride, and enjoy all the other farm activities! They have an 80-foot slide, corn crib, pedal cart track, obstacle course, playground, inflatables, farm animals, games, rock wall, bungee bounce, barrel train, education connection, concessions and more! New for 2023, is the farmer's market where they offer products made and grown locally! Open on weekends to the public and weekdays for field trips. Sonlight Farms can't wait for your family to have fun on the farm...and learn some things while you're there!

My husband, Joshua, and I are 6th generation tobacco farmers. We were raised in this community and I even taught school for several years in our district. We opened Sonlight Farms to have a place where people could come and learn about agriculture while enjoying a fun day with their families. Everything we have built has been with our own children (now 10 and 8) in mind. When people come to Sonlight Farms they are truly on a working farm. Our education connection includes local crops planted with information posted about each one. We have the most interesting conversations with visitors who have never been this up close to cotton, soybeans, peanuts, corn, sweet potatoes, and pumpkins. The 1.5 acre pond with fountain in the center of the farm makes for a warm and relaxing environment. We have a range of activities that keep kids entertained for hours! Our concession stand is always a popular place with hamburgers, hotdogs, nachos (loaded nachos are the best!), and more! This year we are excited about adding a farmer's market! We will offer locally made and grown products and produce. I already have several vendors lined up and a list of products ready to go! Our farm is family run and operated. When visitors are there, we treat them like family! People come back every year excited to see what has been added and what is new! We love seeing how much the kids grow year after year! We also support our community in various ways throughout the year. We are active members of our local Chamber of Commerce. We provide sponsorships to our local schools, PTA chapters, Tobacco Farm Life Museum, and more. People in our community recognize the name Sonlight Farms because we want to give back more than we take. Our farm is also easily accessible from I-95, Highway 301, and Highway 222. We are nestled in the small town of Kenly which is an easy drive from Clayton, Smithfield, Wilson, or Goldsboro.
