The Farmers' Daughter
The Farmers’ Daughter is a strawberry and mixed vegetable farm and an open air, NC Certified Roadside Stand founded in 2008. Owners, Amy and Jason Douglas own and operate the farm, along with their new indoor, NC Certified Roadside Stand/Country Store, complete with an ice cream parlor and deli, which opened in 2022.On the farm side, the Douglas’ grow approximately 3 acres of already picked strawberries. Plus, approximately 10 acres of seasonal mixed vegetables. They have a 50+ member CSA that has been in operation since 2009. They also team up with Amy’s family farm, Morning Dew Farms, LLC to provide squash, zucchini, snap beans, cucumbers, and blueberries to their community and the southeast region. In the fall of 2024, the Douglas’ will be expanding the agritourism aspect of the farm, by bringing back fall school field trips, and adding family farm fun activities, hayrides to the pick-your-own pumpkin patch and a corn maze! The Country Store is open year round, with a couple of breaks for rest and resetting. Please call (828) 312-8137 for store hours, as they change seasonally. The deli has a large selection of build-your-own fresh sliced deli sandwiches and hot specialty sandwiches. The ice cream parlor serves hand-dipped, Riverbend Creamery and Dairy Farm (Lincolnton, NC) ice cream. The country store showcases local, NC products throughout the year, including: dairy (milk, Amish rolled butter, cheese, goat cheese, and farm fresh eggs); frozen pastured beef, chicken, and pork; canned goods: jams, jellies, pickles, and sauces; dry goods: cornmeal mixes, flour mixes, etc.; body care: goats soap & lotions, soy soaps, and body oils; herbs: dry seasoning mixes and herbal teas. We believe in being open and honest with our customers and building relationships that last; based on faith and trust. We are not an organic farm. We use a mixture of both sustainable and conventional practices to produce the healthiest and best tasting strawberries, blueberries, and mixed vegetables that we can!
