Ingredients

15 oz bag
Chex Mix Traditional Mix
1 cup
Toasted Pecan Halves
8 slices
Applewood Smoked Bacon - Cooked crispy and Crumbled (Preferably from Got to Be NC Members Cheshire Farms or The Butchers Market)
1/2 cup
Packed Brown Sugar
1/4 cup
Light Corn Syrup
1/4 Tbsp
Cayenne Powder or Chipotle Powder
2 Tbsp
Bourbon, Optional
Cooking Spray
Tin Foil
Rimmed Cookie Pans
Large Bowl

Directions

Step One

Heat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Line two rimmed cookie pans with foil, spray with cooking spray.

Step Two

In a large bowl combine snack mix, pecans and bacon.

Step Three

In a 2 quart sauce pan, heat brown sugar, butter and corn syrup over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally until bubbly around edges. Cook 5 more minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Cool 2 minutes. Carefully stir in bourbon and cayenne.

Pour over snack mixture. Toss until evenly coated.

Step Four

Spread snack mixture on pans. Bake 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes to caramelize the mixture. Cool completely about an hour, stirring every 15 minutes to break up pieces.
